La Batalla de Chacabuco

Yesterday, whilst searching for information for a forthcoming game, I came across this five-minute news report (from Chile, I assume) about last year's 200th anniversary of the Battle of Chacabuco. It's in Spanish, so good luck with that, but has some nice shots of the scenery, some reenactors (mixed, it has to be said, with what appear to be modern soldiers) and some earnest-looking talking heads. I thought it was worth sharing though.

Oh, and there's some toy-soldiers as well.

News From Ganesha

A bit of a dream posts for me really. Ganesha Games seem to be on track to releasing not only a set of gladiator rules ('Ferrum et Gloria') but have also set a vague date for the release of their superhero game ('Power Legions'). Now it's true that I am still trying to decide if I like 'Mighty Monsters', for which I was very much the target demographic, but I'll certainly be giving both sets a look when they're released.

Gong Con 2012 - We Made The Paper

Gong Con 2012 made the local paper, with a focus on the HOTT game and a great picture to go with it:

(OK, my favourite bit is that all of the figures in the picture are from Games Workshop, but being used for a game that isn't theirs :) )

HOTT Tournament At Gong Con 2012

We (as in the Gong Garage Gamers) are planning on holding a HOTT competition as part of Gong Con on Sunday 29th July.

The format will be four rounds, fixed list 24AP armies, 15mm figures and it will run from 9am to 3pm.

The Gong Con website is HERE

If you're interested in taking part, or have any questions, contact Alan Saunders at [email protected] or Caesar Anderson at [email protected].

UPDATE: Owing to low registrations for this comp, we have decided to abandon it for this year. We will, however, be running HOTT games on Sunday 29th July - all are welcome to come along and play.
